Today Officer Bandeen with the Delta Police Department spoke with our students in Safety Village. The students got to see the police car and learn about safety in public. Thank you to the Delta Police Department and Officer Bandeen for spending time with our kids!!
Today members of Pike-Delta-York Leadership Team met with John Ketler, President of Nature Fresh. Mr. Ketler took our leadership team around on a tour of the facility and he taught us the entire process for how crops are grown, harvested, packaged, and shipped. There is a lot of technology and biological science involved! We are excited about the partnership we're developing with Nature Fresh! We are in discussions for many ways our two entities will be partnering together. #OneRoar
Today marked the kickoff of Safety Village sponsored by the Delta Chamber of Commerce and PDY Schools. Today the Delta Fire Department came out and demonstrated their gear and let the kids see their trucks. Thank you to DPD for giving your time to Safety Village!!

Our fifth grade students started a volunteering opportunity with the Open Door of Delta this year. They have been working on sorting and pricing items in Social Studies class. The items are brought to school, sorted, priced, and returned to the Open Door when finished. The students were excited to take a trip to the store the last week of school. They enjoyed a tour of the facility and they were able to work in different areas alongside their teachers and the volunteers. It was a great day and we look forward to expanding our partnership!

Seventh graders gave back to the community by spending some time cleaning up at the park.

Our Seniors took their long awaited class trip to Chicago. It was a beautiful day in the windy city. They took an architectural tour of the city by boat, stood 103 floors above the city, ate a pizza buffet that compares to none, got a behind the scenes tour of Wrigley field, and ended the day on the Centennial Wheel at Navy Pier. It was a fun filled and busy day!

On Saturday, several middle school students participated in the Ohio State History Day.
Brady Kile and Jensyn Gillen won a special award from the Society of Ohio Archivists and a cash prize.
Hannah Tedrow and Marcella Morris placed second and became National Finalists. They will head to the National Competition in Washington, D.C. in June to compete.
