Tonight, we proudly welcomed and inducted members of the PDY Board of Education. We are excited to welcome Mr. Craig Elton as our newest board member and to congratulate Mr. Jeff Lintermoot on being re-elected and continuing his service to our district.

Fittingly, this evening’s recognitions take place during School Board Appreciation Month, a time when we pause to thank all of our board members for the many hours they dedicate to serving our students, staff, and community. We are grateful for their commitment and leadership, and we look forward to continuing to work together on behalf of our Panthers. 🐾

During our December Board of Education meeting, we proudly recognized Jackie Chiesa for her outstanding service as School Board President as she completes her final term on December 31.

Her dedication and leadership have helped guide PDY forward, always keeping what’s best for our Panthers at the heart of her work. We are grateful for her years of service and wish her all the best in the future.

During our final days before break, our 3rd graders led the way with their Giving Tree, collecting winter gear to donate to the Open Door. Hats, gloves, scarves, and coats were shared with the goal of spreading warmth and care throughout our community.

Our students enjoyed a special morning bus ride through Lights on the Lane’s incredible Christmas light display before school complete with visits from Santa, Mrs. Claus, and a very festive gingerbread man (shoutout to Mrs. Sutton!).

Pike Delta York students are inviting the community to gather for fun, friendly chess nights designed to bring people together. Whether you’re a seasoned strategist or just learning how the pieces move, this is a great opportunity to challenge yourself, meet others, and enjoy a little healthy competition.

All ages and experience levels are welcome, prizes add a fun competitive twist, and light refreshments will be available. We have a few boards on hand, but feel free to bring your favorite set and join the action!♟️
