Our Juniors and Seniors in Mr. Freado's Leadership Laboratory recently hosted a hands-on leadership experience for our 7th graders, focused on building the skills and mindsets needed to lead well. Through interactive stations, students explored trust, communication, decision-making, conflict resolution, humility, and what truly separates a leader from a boss.
We are proud of the thought, planning, and ownership our upperclassmen put into this event and equally impressed by the 7th graders’ openness to learn, grow, and step into their own leadership potential.

Before the snow arrived, we were able to harvest our Land Lab! Kay Timpe joined us with her wagon to demonstrate how to measure moisture and calculate yield from our field. This year, we planted seven test plots to study and compare.
A huge thank you to committee chair Gracyn for her outstanding leadership, with support from graduates Walter and AJ. We are also incredibly grateful to Mr. Peloton and his son AJ for bringing their combines and semis to help with the harvest. Finally, thank you to Mr. Wyse for driving the semis to both Gerald Grain Delta and Pettisville Grain Delta.

DMS Honor Society members are spreading holiday cheer this week as they help at the Elementary Christmas Shop! Our students have been busy wrapping gifts and shopping alongside the younger Panthers, making the experience extra special for them.
We’re also grateful for the high school students who joined in to support our elementary shoppers. What a wonderful way for our older students to give back to the district and lift up our youngest learners!
Parents — if you spot your child in these photos, don’t look too closely… we don’t want to spoil any surprises hiding in those presents! 🎁 🐾

Ms. Pezzin’s students enjoyed a wonderful holiday adventure! They started the morning with a trip to see A Christmas Carol. After the show, the fun continued with visits to Delta 109 and The Open Door. The students had an absolute blast and made memories that will last well beyond the holiday season! 🎭

Our young learners have been busy building their number sense!
Students worked with numbers 0–10 by ordering them, removing numbers, and then working together as a team to put everything back in the correct sequence. Hands-on activities like these help strengthen counting skills, collaboration, and confidence.
Great job, Panther mathematicians!

Last Monday, Jordyn York from Howard Hanna Realty visited our English 9 classes to share how persuasive writing plays a key role in her career. Our freshmen have been putting those skills to work by creating their own Gingerbread Houses, which they’ll begin “marketing” next week! Each house will be “for sale” for a donation to our Kindness Closet, which helps provide food, clothing, and hygiene items to students in need. We love seeing learning come to life while giving back!

Our 4th grade students got creative by designing and crafting their own ornaments using the xTool laser on wood! Each student’s design was unique, and they even made a few special ones as gifts for their teachers. 🎄
We’re so proud of their creativity and generosity!

Our Culinary Lab groups competed in the Great Pumpkin Challenge last week. Lab groups selected their recipe, made out their market order, planned the lab, prepared the food item, delivered goodies to the judges and then got to enjoy one another’s treats.
Our winners of the Silver Spoon award (Judge’s choice based on flavor and texture) was the group that made the pumpkin Pecan Coffee Cake. The winners of the Golden Rolling Pin (teamwork, planning, presentation, flavor, and texture) was the lab groups selected that made the pumpkin chocolate chip bread with pumpkin hot cocoa.

Our seventh graders have been working hard all quarter, earning tickets through consistent homework completion, good attendance, and meeting their weekly goals. Each achievement gave them a chance to be entered into a special drawing… and today, the lucky winners got to pie a principal or teacher in the face!
A huge shout-out to our brave volunteers who took a pie (or two!) for the team and helped make this incentive such a memorable moment for our students and great job to our seventh graders for their hard work and positive choices throughout the 9 weeks!
