Our preschoolers had a great visit from the Fulton County Humane Society!
Mary and Mikey spent time with our students teaching them how to safely interact with pets and what it means to take good care of them. It was a fun, hands-on learning experience that our students really enjoyed.

Our Operations and Grounds crew have been hard at work making upgrades to the softball complex! 🥎
Recent improvements include the visitor viewing area behind home plate, updated fencing to enhance the look and feel of the field, added dugout fencing to better protect our players, and field grading with new material to improve drainage.
A big thank you to Mike, Kj, and Sam for their work in getting the field ready for our athletes! 💚 🐾

In 4th grade, students all get a chance to work with a 3D printer in Dr. Friess’ STEAM class. They custom design a name tag, Dr. Friess sends it to the printer, and the students get to keep it.
One student, Berlyn, really connected with the printer. After class, she asked if she could make a gift for her mom’s upcoming birthday. Dr. Friess told her he wouldn’t make it for her — if she wanted to create it, she would need to come in during her own time to learn how to use the 3D printer, the software, and everything involved.
She did.
Berlyn started coming into Dr. Friess’ classroom instead of going out to recess. She learned how to load filament into the AMS, how to use the design software, and how to prepare a print from start to finish. She downloaded and modified the model she wanted, adjusted the colors to match the available filament, made sure everything was properly loaded, and then sent it to the printer herself.
What a special gift. It wasn’t just a Highland cow — it was time, initiative, and a willingness to learn something new. And that might be the best part of all.

When we talk about the cost of public education, it's important to also talk about what that investment provides on a daily basis. For approximately $93.73 per student per day, Pike-Delta-York Local School District provides instruction, transportation across dozens of square miles, safe and maintained facilities, daily meals, and the staff needed to support nearly a thousand students.
