At last week’s board meeting, the Pike-Delta-York Local Schools Board of Education approved the hiring of Dr. Beth Yoder as the district’s new Band Director.
Dr. Yoder brings over 20 years of experience in music education, most recently serving as a 5–12 Band Director at Archbold Area Schools. She holds a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from the University of Findlay and has extensive experience directing concert, marching, and pep bands, as well as teaching music theory and music history.
Throughout her career, Dr. Yoder has led student performances across the country and has been actively involved in the Ohio Music Education Association. In addition to her teaching experience, she has conducted and presented research on topics including music performance anxiety and educator well-being.
Superintendent Doug Ford said, “In education, you rarely have the opportunity to bring in a leader who possesses both a Doctorate in the field and two decades of proven success in the classroom. By welcoming Dr. Beth Yoder to our team, Pike-Delta-York is making a definitive statement about our commitment to the arts. Her expertise will provide our students with a world-class musical foundation that few programs in the region can match.”
Pike-Delta-York Local Schools looks forward to the leadership and experience Dr. Yoder will bring to the district’s music program.
