Child Find

The Pike-Delta-York Local School District is required to locate all children who may have disabilities, ages birth through 21, who reside within the district’s boundaries. Special education services are available for any child identified with a disability ages 3 through 21. If you have a child or know of a child you suspect may have a disability under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act or Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and who reside in Pike-Delta-York, please call Mrs. Amy Kramer, Director of Student Services or contact the building principal.

Our district is committed to completing all special education evaluations within 60 calendar days from the time we receive parental consent, as required by federal and state law. This ensures students suspected of having a disability can get timely access to the services and supports they may need. Parents are kept informed throughout the process, with reminders about meeting dates and options for flexible participation (such as virtual or phone meetings). We closely track progress and work with families to make sure evaluations are completed on time, so every child has the best chance for success. Please click on the link to access the Policies, Practices, and Procedures for evaluating a student for special education.
