Title I Intervention

Title I is a federally funded program that provides interventions for struggling readers in schools. This service is in addition to what the classroom teacher provides in the classroom. It is not special education. Title I teachers do not just remediate, but intervene with explicit instruction at the student’s level. Groups are typically a student to teacher ratio from 1:3 to 1:5. The goal is to assist students in reaching higher levels of literacy as well as acquiring a strong foundational skill set for reading fluency and comprehension. This should be a positive experience for your child. Students are continually progress-monitored through the Dynamic Indicator of Basic Early Literacy Skills, or DIBELS assessment.

Each Title I teacher in the Pike-Delta-York Local School district is a highly qualified and experienced teacher. The Title I teachers participate in a variety of professional development activities throughout the school year. Our Title I teachers and email are below.
