District Aide

The Pike-Delta-York Local School District, in Delta, Ohio, is seeking an individual to work with students individually, in classroom settings, cover recess duties and other duties as needed. Pike-Delta-York Local School District recently received ODE’s Momentum Award, and the district has a high performing staff and strong student body excelling in both the classroom and extracurricular activities.

Position: District Aide

182 day contract, 5.75 hours per day (9:45-3:30).

This position is considered a district-wide aide, allowing the placement of the aide in any district location as needed. To begin employment, the aide will be placed in the elementary school.

Qualifications: The candidate must possess an associate degree or higher, have completed at least two years of study at an institution of higher education (defined as 48 semester or 72 quarter hours as verified by a college transcript from an accredited institution of higher education) or possess a Paraprofessional license.

The candidate must possess a valid Ohio Aide permit, or have the capability of obtaining one; possessing a Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification is preferred, but not required.

The successful candidate must possess impeccable communication skills with students, parents, and staff; excellent organizational skills; great interpersonal skills; the ability to apply critical thinking skills; and the ability to multi-task.

Successful candidates must have the ability to provide an acceptable BCI/FBI background check.

Pay & Benefits: Per negotiated agreement.

Food Service Director

The Pike-Delta-York Local School District, in Delta, Ohio, is seeking a strong leader to serve as the next Food Service Director. Qualifications:

The district is looking for an excellent leader who has knowledge of food service programming, and Ohio and Federal nutrition law and regulations.

The successful candidate must possess dynamic leadership skills; impeccable communication skills (both written and oral) with students, parents, and staff; excellent organizational skills; great interpersonal skills; excellence computer literacy skills; the ability to work collaboratively; the ability to apply critical thinking skills; the ability to multi-task; and the ability to make independent decisions.

Supervisory or coordinator experience of three (3) years is preferred. Degree requirements:

Bachelor’s degree with academic major concentration in food and nutrition, food service management, dietetics, family and consumer sciences, nutrition education, culinary arts, or business; or

Bachelor’s degree in any academic major, and State-recognized certificate for nutrition director; or

Bachelor’s degree in any academic major, and at least one (1) year of relevant school nutrition programs experience; or

Associate’s degree with academic major concentration in food and nutrition, food service management, dietetics, family and consumer sciences, nutrition education, culinary arts, or business, and at least one (1) year of relevant nutrition program experience.

The successful candidate will be expected to exhibit character and professionalism that reflects positively on the District.

Successful candidates must have the ability to provide an acceptable BCI/FBI background check. Pay and benefits competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.

205 day contract to begin August 1, 2017.

This position may be part time or full time, depending on the candidate’s availability and skill set for additional duties.

Having background experience at the middle school level and the high school level is preferred, but not required.
